Saluting Our Veterans

Saluting our veterans on this Veterans' Day with this cover to Sgt. Rock (#417, of August, 1987 by Joe Kubert), here, with a hopeful vision of what happened to Frank Rock after World War II.

Saluting Our Veterans

Saluting our veterans on this Veterans' Day with a slightly more lighthearted Joe Kubert cover from Our Army At War #206 (May, 1969)...as Sgt. Rock gets to take a little time off.

But, as always, a reminder to still pray for those still at war, and hope that soon, their war will be over too.

Superman Salutes Our Veterans

Technically, it is Lois Lane who is saluting our veterans on this classic cover for Superman #29 (July-August, 1944) by Wayne Boring and George Roussos, but Superman is watching approvingly.

As always, we appreciate all our armed forces do for us!

Saluting Our Combat Veterans

Saluting the men and women who fought for our country on this Veterans' Day...

....with this cover of G.I. Combat #200 (March, 1977) by Joe Kubert, featuring a story by Robert Kanigher and Sam Glanzman teaming up the crew of the Haunted Tank (stars of this comic) working with Sgt. Rock and Easy Company, Mademoiselle Marie and the Losers (Captain Storm, Johnny Cloud, Gunner and Sarge) fighting one of their many battles of World War II.

Remembering Our Veterans With Sgt. Rock

For all the brave men and women who provide our country their service, we appreciate you, salute you, and hope you all have the opportunity to be "Goin' Home"....

...like this cover from Sgt. Rock #392 (September, 1984) by Joe Kubert.

Remembering Our Veterans

For Veterans' Day, a quieter look at the cover of an issue of the Unknown Soldier, #250 (April, 1981), with art by comic book veteran and hero, Joe Kubert.

The Unknown Soldier was a character that gave up his own identity to fight for the United States during World War II...making the next to supreme sacrifice for us all; in this case, surrounded by friends and uneasy allies of Sgt. Rock and Easy Company, the Haunted Tank, Mademoiselle Marie and the Losers (Sarge, Capt. Storm, Johnny Cloud and Gunner).

A way to remember all those who made the supreme sacrifice, and those that survived the horrors of war as well.
