Celebrating Artist Scott Shaw!

Celebrating the birthday of artist Scott Shaw! (September 4, 1951) with a couple of issues of Captain Carrot and his Amazing Zoo Crew (#14 and #15), which features the Captain and his crew (from Earth-C) against Super-Squirrel and his Just'A Lotta Animals from the lost time when super powered animals and multiple Earths were all the rage!

Celebrating Artist Rick Hoberg

Celebrating the birthday of artist and animator Rick Hoberg (June 7, 1952) with a look at his four covers for the last four issues of Captain Carrot and His Amazing Zoo Crew!

A fun look at funny animal characters, deftly drawn, on the fringes of the DC Universe, as you can see with the involvement of Changeling (formerly and later Beast Boy) and Gorilla Grodd.

Happy Easter Captain Carrot

A happy Easter to all...and watch out for what's in those eggs!

A warning Captain Carrot and his team needed to heed, as the Zoo Crew scrambled to face the menace of what's in the egg on Easter Bunny Island in Captain Carrot and His Amazing Zoo Crew #5 (July, 1982) under this cover by Scott Shaw! and Chad Grothkopf.

No Cold Turkey For Thanksgiving

May you not be fighting with a cold turkey this Thanksgiving...unlike Captain Carrot and his Amazing Zoo Crew (Pig-Iron, Alley-Kat Abra, Fastback, Rubberduck and Yankee Poodle).

This, from the wonder series of funny animals, with a cover by Scott Shaw!, and interiors by E. Nelson Bridwell, Scott Shaw!, Stan Goldberg and Al Gordon for Captain Carrot and the Amazing Zoo Crew #13 (March, 1983).

Of course, Captain Carrot and friends lived on Earth-C, a world populated by talking animals....and, wouldn't you know it, they had their own Crisis as well (but that's a story for another time).
