Happy Thanksgiving with Chase and her family!

A shame that things didn't go so well for young Cameron Chase, as her father, the Acro-Bat of the Justice Experience (a group of costumed heroes that existed between the disappearance of the Justice Society and the formation of the Justice League), as their foe, the evil Dr. Trap, killed him.

Cameron Chase grew up to become a government agent for the DEO (the Department of Extranormal Operations), working to monitor super heroes (but, secretly possessing super powers of her own), working for Mr. Bones.

Debuting in Batman #550 (January, 1998), Cameron had her own series (Chase) from February, 1998 to November, 1998 by Curtis Johnson, J. H. Williams III, and Mick Gray and then appeared as a frequent guest all over the DC Universe (mostly in Secret Files).

You'll be thankful to track down this series.

No Cold Turkey For Thanksgiving

May you not be fighting with a cold turkey this Thanksgiving...unlike Captain Carrot and his Amazing Zoo Crew (Pig-Iron, Alley-Kat Abra, Fastback, Rubberduck and Yankee Poodle).

This, from the wonder series of funny animals, with a cover by Scott Shaw!, and interiors by E. Nelson Bridwell, Scott Shaw!, Stan Goldberg and Al Gordon for Captain Carrot and the Amazing Zoo Crew #13 (March, 1983).

Of course, Captain Carrot and friends lived on Earth-C, a world populated by talking animals....and, wouldn't you know it, they had their own Crisis as well (but that's a story for another time).

Here's the cover of Batman: The Long Halloween #2 (January, 1997), of a 13 issue mini-series by Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale, with Batman searching for a new villain, the Holiday Killer.

Seems odd for Superboy to spoil a meal, but that's what happened in Superboy #59 (September, 1957) with this cover by Al Plastino.

In the story, "Superboy's Underground Exile", by Otto Binder and Al Plastino, Superboy started to only travel underground after a missile test near Fort Knox.  Soon after, Superboy spends his time searching for gold....and he did this, distracting people into thinking the missile made him radioactive, to replace the gold in Fort Knox, which he accidentally turned to lead (and wanted to prevent a worldwide panic).

Two other stories in this issue as well, one where Superboy meets an adult Luthor (as "Superboy Meets Amazing Man" by Jerry Coleman and John Sikela) which is contradicted by later stories that place Superman and Luthor at the same age (and it is in Adventure Comics #271 of April, 1960 where the teenage Luthor first turned to crime), and another story, "The Super-Dreams of Superbaby" with art by John Sikela, wherein Superboy has to go to the moon to fix a note he left there back when he was a baby, or risk revealing his identity as Clark Kent!

Such adventures are what we're thankful for!  Happy Thanksgiving!
