Santa Hauls The Marvel Universe

Santa Claus tries to carry the whole Marvel Universe in his back, but it seems too much for him in the Art Adams cover for the January, 1993 Marvel Holiday Special, with stories for Wolverine, the New Warriors, Spider-Man, Deathlok and the Punisher, and pin-ups for Excalibur and Captain America.

Remembering Artist Dan DeCarlo

Remembering artist Dan DeCarlo on his birthday (December 12, 1919 - December 19, 2002) with a couple of covers for the Archie Giant Series Magazine, featuring Santa Claus.

On the first, #168 of January, 1970, Betty is asking for what she wants for Christmas (much to Veronica's dismay), and the second, #220 of December, 1973, has Sabrina dealing with Santa in a mall as well.

Batman As Santa

Batman as Santa?

That's how it looks on this Neal Adams/Dick Giordano cover for Batman #239 (February, 1972).

But, inside, in a story by Denny O'Neil, Irv Novick and Dick Giordano, it starts with Batman helping a street corner Santa who was robbed, leading him to the robber, his poor daughter, and the robber's boss, who he actually was trying to help....and Batman instead taking the sleigh to save the boss' life.

Hulk Vs Santa Claus

By now, probably starting to get over Christmas...

...but, here's a flashback tale to the time of the grey Hulk, where Hulk fights a department store Santa Claus (really the Rhino, who's having a hard time of it as well) under a cover by Bill Jaaska and Bob McLeod for Incredible Hulk #378 (February, 1991).

Iron Man Vs Santa Claus?

To be fair, that really isn't Santa Claus, but a disguised Spymaster that Iron Man is fighting on the cover to Iron Man #254 (March, 1990, cover by Bob Layton)...as Spymaster was directed to fight Iron Man by the Taskmaster.

Still...lumps of coal for the villains for attacking Iron Man and sullying the image of Santa!

Harley Quinn Steals Christmas

Here's to hoping you don't have a Harley Quinn near your house this evening...

...as you wouldn't want her to take Rudolph and Santa Claus' Christmas presents like she did on this Frank Cho cover to Harley Quinn #68 (February, 2020).

Skeletal Santa Claus

A slightly scary Santa Claus, a little thinner than normal...

...is the highlight of this issue (and cover by Nick Cardy) of Witching Hour #28 (February, 1973).

Horror hostess Cynthia gives readers the tale of why you should "Never Kill Santa Claus" with art by Gerry Talaoc.

It appears that mall owner Mr. Cranston tries to make off with the holiday cash, and kills their poor old lovable Santa, Micah, right before the holiday, as he sees what the man was doing. Another Santa shows up, turning the tables on Mr. Cranston, sending him to a place that will give him much worse than coal in his stocking.

Merry Christmas From Mighty Samson

A Merry Christmas from a post apocalyptic future N'Yark, as the half blind Mighty Samson fights for his life on a reindeer float, versus a menace on a Santa Claus float (and a mutant bat), on this Gold Key classic from Mighty Samson #30 (December, 1975) cover by George Wilson, and story by Arnold Drake and Jack Abel!

Sugar And Spike Surprise Santa

The delightful babies Sugar Plumm and Cecil "Spike" Wilson surprise Santa Claus in this cover by their creator, Sheldon Meyer, from Sugar & Spike #44 (December-January, 1962/1963).

Oh the trouble these two talking babies can get into....they should try being nice, instead of naughty before Christmas!

Santa The Barbarian

Santa Claus decides to make some changes when the elves bring him his nice and naughty list....

....at least, that's how it goes down in Maximum Press' Santa The Barbarian #1 (December, 1996) with two stories, one by Robert Loren Fleming and Dan Fraga, "The Big Red Slay", and the other by Robert Loren Fleming and Pop Mhan, "The Night Before X-mas".

This comic was based off of the 1993 trading card by Rob Liefield for Wizard Magazine..

.....hey, it was the 1990s and violent parodies of Santa were all the rage!
