Celebrating Artist Ed Hannigan

Celebrating the birthday of artist Ed Hannigan (August 6, 1951), who has done spectacular cover work over the years, including these covers for Spectacular Spider-Man, featuring Spider-Man and Cloak & Dagger (including their debut issue).  Cloak and Dagger were two teenagers (Tyrone Johnson and and Tandy Bowen) who got powers over darkness and light (respectively) after an injection of synthetic heroin.  The duo complemented each other, and used their newfound powers to fight crime.

Celebrating Artist Ed Hannigan

Celebrating the birthday of artist Ed Hannigan (August 6, 1951) with a couple of his incredible Avengers covers.

Here, with Avengers #221 (July, 1982)....spoilers...Hawkeye returns to the team after a bit of an absence, and She-Hulk joins the team as well (and, even more of these folks who really didn't fit with the Avengers would join over the next few decades...).

Avengers #223 (September, 1982) focused on Hawkeye and Ant-Man (though Scott Lang hadn't become a member, yet), as the duo faced off against the Taskmaster.

Incredible covers from an incredible artist!

Celebrating Artist Ed Hannigan

Celebrating artist Ed Hannigan on his birthday (August 6, 1951), with a few covers to the Rom series, when it was at Marvel.

Picked Rom, as, like Ed, Rom was all over the Marvel Universe!

Rom, the Spaceknight, was a hunter of the Dire Wraiths (and, at the time, did so across the Marvel Universe...

...at least until his 75 issue series ended and Marvel didn't license the character anymore).

But, Marvel has the license back from Hasbro, and is at least planning Rom's return in Omnibus form!
